Important Registration Dates
Scheme Registration:
Schemes are required in accordance with the Pensions Act, to register with The Pensions Board within a year of commencement.
Scheme Amendments:
Scheme trustees are required, in accordance with the Pensions Act, to notify the Board of scheme amendments within a year of the date of the amendment.
Scheme Fees:
Scheme Trustees are required in accordance with the Pensions Act, to pay fees levied on certain schemes.
Exemptions:
- death benefit only schemes
- AVC only schemes
- schemes with less than two members that commenced prior to the 31st of December 1993.
Fees are levied on all other current occupational pension schemes. The fee is based on active membership.
Single member fees are levied on schemes that were current in the previous year - single member fees are due each year in the 31st of January.
Group scheme fees are based on the number of active members in the scheme on the scheme renewal date in the previous year - group scheme fees are due on the 31st of March
Following reminders, and in the event of non payment, schemes are listed for prosecution proceedings.
